An Announcement from TSHA

FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:

It is with mixed excitement and sadness that I announce my retirement as Executive Director of TSHA effective July 15th.

I have had the immense privilege to lead this organization for the past 33 years. Throughout the past three decades, I have worked alongside talented, passionate and dedicated advocates who built, grew and nurtured our community. I am truly blessed to have been accepted and embraced by the deaf community, those who are hard of hearing, those affected by hearing loss, and our partner community-based organizations. I have loved my job and for that I thank you.

While I am sad to leave TSHA, I do so with complete confidence in the abilities of our amazing staff, community partners, and the TSHA Board of Directors. With the guidance of our incredible board of directors, I am confident that the best days of TSHA lie ahead.

As I prepare to step down as Executive Director, I want to thank you for your continued support of our work and our mission of bridging gaps to improve the quality of life of those affected by hearing loss. – Rene’ Ryan

FROM THE DESK OF TSHA’S BOARD PRESIDENT:

It is with mixed emotions that I announce René Ryan’s intent to retire July 15, 2018.

I am excited for René and the opportunities the free time will afford her to spend at her lake house and with her family, especially her grandson.

I am grateful for the 30+ years René gave to TSHA and the 25 years she spent as the Executive Director. She is one of the most capable leaders with whom I have had the pleasure to work. She led TSHA through some difficult challenges, and to local and national recognition for its staff and many of its programs. She leaves the agency well positioned for the future, and to absorb this transition while continuing to effectively serve its constituency. Her presence and the stability she provided will be missed by the agency, the community and the Board.

The Personnel Committee of the Board will be forming a Search Committee to identify a suitable candidate to succeed René. This Committee will conduct a national search with the intent of having the candidate in place on or before July 15th.

Please join me in thanking René for all of the work she has done for the agency and the community, and in wishing her well as she makes this transition. – Brandon Croley
