Feb 27 – TSHA’s 32nd Annual Souper Sunday – “Green Eggs & Soup!”

Eat green eggs, you say??! No, never fear.
No green eggs, but plenty of soup will be here!

This year’s event theme is in celebration of the 110th birthday of one of America’s favorite children’s authors, Dr. Seuss, and should inspire an air of fun and quirkiness for the gathering.

When, oh when, do you say? Sunday, March 9, 2014, is the day.

But where, oh where, should we go? To the UMAC (Union Multipurpose Activities Center), 6836 S. Mingo – come rain or come snow.

And when, oh when, should we arrive? At 3:30 pm to browse the auction – silent, not live.

And what, oh what, will we find? Enough soups, breads and desserts to boggle the mind!

How much, how much will it be? $20 for tall people, $10 for small (ages 11 – 6) – 5 & under are free! ($5 more per ticket at the door.)

Souper Sunday is TSHA’s only major fundraising event. It’s difficult to enjoy the silly sounds of children’s books if you can’t hear your parents read them to you. Attend Souper Sunday, and join TSHA’s efforts to make a difference in the lives of the more than 1 in 10 people of all ages who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

From 4:00-6:00 pm you will be able to sample delectable soups, breads, desserts and beverages from dozens of area establishments, all for one low ticket cost.

Our theme is not the only family-friendly thing about this event – we will have our popular Kids’ Corner again, and there will be plenty of child-themed baskets to bid on in our Silent Auction. This event has the feel of a huge, friendly, family reunion with 600 of your relatives – even if it’s your first time to attend! Sign language interpreters will be everywhere.
